I don't really have a decided stance on this yet, but I've always wondered...In this situation and ones of the like, there are always people that bring up 'Why are people playing God?'. In my experiences, many of these people are also fairly to very religious in nature.... There's nothing new under the sun. I believe that God knows all things; and they're revealed to us incrementally (we can't see what will happen on Wednesday until Wednesday arrives; yet God already knows...)
I think there's a limit to what "man" will be able to do with this, and that limit or border, is ordained by and known to God. Within these borders may be some medical scientific good, and/or some mischief on the part of man. Why the mischief, you might ask? Because, as free-will beings, we retain the choice to do right or wrong. Yeah, there's some consternation as these things develop, particularly when you recognize man's historic propensity to make the dummy move. But in the end, it's still all good.
