Delta sorors and sisterfriends,
Congratulations to you on the extension of Delta Sigma Theta overseas.
I have a particular interest in the extension of Greek Life beyond the United States and Canada; I find it heartening that Delta Sigma Theta has successfully managed to set up a new chapter abroad (or is in the process of).
From the little I have learnt of the 'Divine Nine' service organizations, I have picked up that they through each of their chapters have decades upon decades of strong ties in their regional communities with key strengths being dedicated alumni in positions of authority within business, government and society; committed to the goal of servicing the community.
Because of these strong ties to [geographic] communities, I had always thought that Divine Nine organizations particularly, would have a hard time expanding beyond the United States and that this might not be possible.
It's nice to be proved wrong sometimes!
Sincerely,
- Richard.
