I'll take the bait. First off, no I'm not a minster but I do see myself as a Christian. However, I have a cousin who is a minister and he is a very proud and active member of Omega Psi Phi. Having said that, you can be in a frat/sor and be a man/woman of God. All the D9 organizations were founded on principles that are based on the teachings of Christ. By that I mean our Servitude and Stewardship. Also, I would wager that in each of our rituals and oaths, there's some referrence to God.

Now, where you're probably wondering is, the social side of our organizations. Like any facet of the secular society we live in there might be things that as Christians we might not partake in, but I would look at the organization as whole. What Kappa Alpha Psi does in giving back to the community and our mentorship through our Guide Right programs, is priceless. That is of God. No you don't have to go to Kappa Luau, no you don't have to go to freak fest. There are Bro/Sis in every organization who attend meetings and are on the frontline in our service efforts but are devout Christians. Also at the grad level there are nice social evens like Balls and other social events that benefit some type of philanthropy. Having said all this, you can. I know of others who have denounced their membership over your same concerns. I would argue why did they join in the first place. You could take the kane twirling, the shimmy, and the strolling away and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. would still stand as a symbol of Achievement, Brotherhood and Service. Don't forget that PHI NU PI. I had so many preconceived notions about fraternity life, but it's until I became a member that I realized that the stepping and stuff like that were not as important as the Good we do as Kappa men for the world. I hope I've helped a little. But ultimately only God can give u true direction. Good luck in journey, no matter where it leads.
