When I was a kid (well, I kinda still am, but anyway, when I was younger), we had a remote control to the VCR...but it was one of those that was connected with a long cord. Everybody always tripped over it, but it was
the latest thing when my stepdad got it in the early 80s and we all thought it was just so cool.
