the adventure
we had quite an adventure geting to ird yesterday...
while we were driving down the pike, we got a flat tire. heather was going to try to put the donut on herself but was nervous that the lugnuts would be too tight and she coudlnt' get it off. we called one of the girls there who was going to drive the half hour to pick us up fromt he side of the road while we had a tow truck come get the car. however, only certain tow truck companies are allowed on the mass pike since it's a private road. the names of the ones we got were not allowed. so we called the state police and they were going to send a trooper to put the donut on for us. we called and told cari she didn't need to come get us, we would just wait for the trooper. meanwhile, here's four girls in dresses and heals sitting on the side of the road and not one person asked if we needed help, but lots beeped and waved as they drove by. so this service man sent by the state police finally arrives. walks up and was like "so you got a flat?" heather was like i just wanted to be like no, we're hanging out here for fun. so he got the donut on and we drove the rest of the way to worcestor and dropped it off at speedy auto service, which was down the street from the hotel where IRD was at. so we ended up being about an hour late. it was quite a low-key lunch so we didn't even miss much!
