Good topic Beth.
When I was in school (wow, it's been almost two years since I've been out!), I was pretty lucky to have scholarships. My college offered me a huge amount, my dad's company gave me money each year, and I had a few private scholarships I found my senior year in college. My parents paid the remainder, which wasn't too much. However, I knew that if I messed up and lost any scholarship, I had to personally pay the difference. And my parents said they would only pay for 4 years of college...anything extra was my expense. So, I worked hard, got good grades, and graduated within 4 years.
Before graduating high school, my friends and I looked through tons and tons of scholarship books to find scholarships for just about everything you could think of. The money is definately out there...you just have to have the patience to search and find it. When I have a family, you bet I will be sitting with my kids making them fill out scholarship applications for silly things. (Like for tall or short people

) Why pass up an oppurtunity for a free education???
