one of those sororities i know has a harsh paddling initiation. Illinois is probably worse though since more hazing begins at highschool. this also points to the larger problem of hazing becoming more secretive as those in favor of it realize the need to keep it quiet and out of the headlines. it's not that there's less people who want to haze, but with lawsuits being filed and schools, names, families getting media exposure, it's helped reduce some of it and made the groups that haze more careful about hazing in any way that could be proven. that's why there's so many of these groups who will go on record as being a non hazing org., but in reality, behind the scenes, they work hard to ensure it still goes on, but make activities more innocent sounding. if you call it by something other than hazing, then in their minds, it's not hazing.
