On my campus, there is only one BGLS with a campus dorm (house). The Alphas, Kappas, and Ques have rent houses off-campus. While there are houses for the other NPC sororities, I don't think it's an issue of race on our campus. All orgs. had a house, but lost it back in the day and there just aren't any more dorms available.

Penguin Trax' post sounds like what goes on at our school. You have to have a certain number of members to keep your house. Sometimes, they let non-greeks in. Their housing fees are lower. They also get alumnae support and donations to keep the house looking nice.

I'm sort of glad, we didn't have a house. The greek population is small and house business tends to get out. I'm sure it helps to have a house when you have meetings and programs, but sometimes the drama can be too much.
