]. A communicable disease like AIDS has a greater potential to damage the human community. With sickle cell, it's a genetically inherited disease, you don't catch it. Sickle has less damaging potential to society. Not to discount the pain or suffering that people with sickle cell go through, but, it just doesn't have the same damaging potential as AIDS.
