also sometimes the motto is hidden other times it is open.
For example, there is a Latina Sorority:
Sigma Lambda Upsilon. On their website,
http://www.sigmalambdaupsilon.org/ it would appear that the S.L.U. of their name stands for:
Sincerity, Loyalty, Unity and also "Senoritas Latinas Unidas". I do not know whether they have a "secret" meaning for S.L.U. also. I was just citing this as one example (I'm not in this sorority, so this is just an observation on my part of having looked at the website).
