"Friday, November 17, 1911 marked the founding of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Several years later inspired by the aforementioned, nine women of color: S. Washington, A. Davis, F. Thompson, T. Gates, M. Jones, G. Battles, T. Turner, G. Lee, and R. German pledged their eternal love and devotion to their own organization. Their eternal love, devotion, and deep determination led to the founding of Omicron Psi Omega, Inc. on April 21, 2000 at the George W. Firestone Building in Tallahassee, Florida."
