So, training has been going OK. Fundraising OK, too. I have sent out 200-plus letters to friends and families and planned a night out at an area bar, and a canister drive and a pie-throwing event. Hopefully, it will all come together.

This morning I did my first half-marathon here in St. Louis - I am also doing a half in Nashville. San Diego is 2 months away. My time this morning was 2hours 52 minutes at a run/walk combo - thats about a 13 minute pace. I am so psyched about how I did and now have a little bit of pace idea to work with in training since I don't carry a watch.

The half was incredibly fun but also hard - so different from our long training runs. Even though when we train we have been going about 12 miles for the last month, this was different from those in that it was way more intense. Intense in a good way.

The other people in this marathon/half were amazing - so many different types.

I actually never "hit the wall," where you absolutely can't go or do much more. However, I got really emotional at mile 12 when I realized my time.

I just woke up from a small nap, and now its back to the real world - cleaning, homework, etc.
