RACooper said it best to explain the history aspect (it goes for geography, poli sci and all the other social sciences too!!)
and as for the education aspect.. I love the thought of "opening doors" for students and exposing them to new ideas, thoughts, beliefs and worlds all in a 50 minute time block
I have 1 semester left of classes and then student teaching.. I am so excited to finally have my own classroom!!!
