As a moderator, although not for this forum, I don't believe in deleting threads that are of interest to readers here. I think if something is wholly inappropriate or offensive, yes, delete it. Most, including myself, LIKE to hear when a campus is expanding, and what ultimately ends up happening. But when people offer up opinions, as you did, about alumnae support or $$ or whatever, it could potentially harm the process. I wasn't singling you out though, and you should be aware of that. The same sort of things were said about MANY sororities, including my own, by folks in the FSU thread. And I defended my sorority as best I could, so that, god forbid someone from FSU was reading this, they wouldn't believe that D Phi E was JUST a Jewish sorority, because back in 1950, they were at FSU, or that D Phi E had NO women living in the Tallahassee area, but in fact, we have nearly 100.
My posting this topic has NOTHING to do with being a moderator, adpiucf. It has to do with believing in the FAIR process of NPC expansion. I may be a bit more sensitive than others because I come from a smaller NPC sorority rather than one of the larger groups, but I think sometimes we smaller NPCs already have a tick against us because we don't have 200,000 initiates and 180 chapters. That's fair to do. It IS NOT fair to the NPC expansion process to have folks here who don't belong to a certain group or have correct information on a certain group spouting off things that they know nothing about.
I didn't PM you adpiucf because you weren't posting about my sorority. If you had, I would've said something to you publicly, as I did with PhiPsiRuss when he spouted in the FSU thread.
The point is, this issue is RELEVANT to ALL expansion threads, not just the two I've mentioned, and I think it's worth more than a PM to someone who probably had no malicious intent.
p.s. And for those who thanked me for posting this, you're welcome. For those agree, thank you!

I'm sure if the moderators are notified of a post that is inappropriate, they will delete it.
If there are threads you don't think should be on GC, my advice is don't post on them and PM the person who initiated it, requesting that they remove it.
I think we want to keep everyone happy here, and no one would intentionally want to post something that offends anyone.
