I too was worried about this so I just rented a car anyway. Besides my mother and son will be with me and we plan to go to California Disney, etc. I believe I rented from Dollar Rent a Car at LAX. It came to $117 for the entire week with unlimited mileage. If you go on the site,it's cheaper than calling them.
