Funny story...

The camp I've attended/worked at since I was fifteen has an older song that is rarely sung called "The Ashgrove" - It's a really beautiful slow song, and we mostly stick to peppy fast songs about animals, but a few times each summer someone will sing "The Ashgrove" at a campfire...

This past summer, one of my little sisters came to camp with me, and we're at opening campfire and two vocally gifted counselors are doing a wonderful rendition of "The Ashgrove" - and Tracy catches my eye from around the fire circle, and starts mouthing something. I can't figure out how she would know the words to this song, since it was her first summer at camp, and then I realize what she's doing...

She's singing "On the Heart of Each Sister" - it's the same tune! I had been hearing both songs for a few years, and never realized that they had the same tune! It was so neat. Wonder which song came first...
