Student Population: 5,000
Percent of students in Greek system: around 25%
NPC sororities: 10
NIC fraternities: between 13-15 (that's a whole other conversation right there)
Sorority House Total: 95
Quota (2003): 23

8 of the sororities hover right around 95 - only five members separate the largest from the eighth largest. The other two sororites have about 60 or 70 girls - their numbers fluctuate more, because they COB large classes on a regular basis, while the rest usually only have spots to COB one or two.

I had no idea that total was so wildly different from the actual membership within the organizations at most schools. We've been arguing recently over whether or not to raise total - the four consistently largest sororities want to, the two smaller sororities don't want to, and the rest of the sororities recognize that they could easily fall into either category after either a couple good years or a couple bad years. So instead, we make up new formulas for setting quotas and release figures every year. Because it wasn't complicated enough.
