I was watching this little boy one time... He was always into everything and his parents just let him get away with it... Well, he was two and I had to change his diaper... I went to take his diaper off and I saw a (no joke) 6 inch string hanging out of his butt.
I couldn't just let him go with a string hanging from his butt, so I got about twenty baby wipes, put on an additional pair of the plastic gloves they had for changing his diaper, and manually pulled the string out.
The worst part was that this kid had eaten a string over a foot in length. OMG, it was so awful... It was a wonder it hadn't caused a serious obstruction! But, when I told his mom, she didn't think anything of it and told me that he likes to put everything in his mouth.
