I am also at an HBCU and I am interested in becoming a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha. It is my first year here (although it is my second in college). This year I did not attend any of the events because I did not know a lot about greek life, but also because I wanted to take the time to do my research and to really make sure that this is what I wanted and to try and become the type of person that someone would choose to become a member. As of right now my GPA is 3.76, I am involved in community service, and a number of other organization, etc. I just want to know if the fact that I didn't attend any events this year, effect my chances of being selected next year (spring), even if I attend all events from here until that time?
