Well, I'm a neo, but I have definitely observed that the call (OO-OOP) seems to perturb older Sorors because it's unofficial. When I was in college (about 6 years ago) it wasn't common for other Greeks to step at each others parties either, so I think that is still a current trend (that's just my observation).
Other than that, I can only think back to when my older relatives who are greek would mention giving their greek pins to their significant other as a sign of their dating, but that has been out for so long now. Anyway, that's all folks!
