Further research it seems says he is right?
Murray State College:
http://www.mscok.edu/demo/academies.htm
"Sigma Phi Alpha is a national organization for students interested in Music and Art. The club presents recitals during the year, sponsors Fine Arts Week and arranges the annual art show. The Murray State College musical groups in the chapter present concerts and entertainment both on and off campus. " It listed there under honors fraternities.

But... I couldn't find any other pages about them though national or not.
But the website also calls their list an "Honor Program". Perhaps it is a music honor society? It also doesn't indicate that it is for women only.
