Just because I'm Jewish and American, people assume I'm a JAP.
When people find out I'm a Jew by choice, they often assume that I converted for my husband's sake. Nope - I chose my own path for my own reasons, and if he'd insisted that I convert for him, we would not be married today.
A number of my associates think my husband and I are trying to start a family. Not yet - stop looking at me as if you expect a baby to pop out any second!
These same associates believe that I will cheerfully quit my job and be a stay-at-home mom. Nope, not gonna happen.
