Well, to be honest, I really didn't know what the greek system was like until I got to college. I had sworn against them due to the 'TV/Movie' hype I had seen previously. Then when I got there, as a music major, I saw SAI, one of the big things people kept pushing was--it will look good on resume to be a part of a professional fraternity. So I looked into it. I saw that this was not just a 'resume helper' but it was a lot of fun too! I loved music, I loved community service, so I said--Cool! I wanna join! So I pledged SAI in the Spring. Well, the next fall, all my friends were running around like chickens with their heads cut off about informal rush. So just to please a friend who BEGGED me to go with her to a social sorority rush party, I went to one. Delta Zeta was it! I fell in love with the sorority and the girls. They were very diverse and had a great reputation. They spoke openly about what they stood for and really had a passion for it. So I fell head over heals AGAIN for another greek organization. I thought, how cool would it be if a music major joined DZ--a sorority dedicated to aid the hearing impaired. How much joy someone could have from the healing powers of music! Even if they are hearing impaired! I could really use MY talent to help someone learn and appreciate something that they might never have experienced before. AFter really thinking about what it would mean to be part of TWO greek organizations, I decided to go for it. I loved every moment!
