While I agree with your suggestion to buy the cookies, I don't really think the problem is with the Bible Belt in this instance -- or even a location specifically -- it is more with people who are just fanatical. EVERY group has its fanatics that screw up the image for the rest

It's a shame really. Do the parents think these girls are going to be living in some pure virgin bubble for the rest of there lives? They're going to get information about sex whether the parents like it or not (and it'll probably be from their friends and it'll the worst possible information/advice ever since these girls are all from the same place).
The girls should be able to go to their parents for information on sex (but apparently these parents conceived their children through immaculate conception), but if the can't go to their parents, Planned Parenthood is the next best thing.
WARNING....AXO Alum's lefty side is going to emerge momentarily... I am so in agreement with you on this point about the parents. Pretending that this isn't a fact of life, does NOT make it go away. My parents completely sheltered me and I was extremely naive about things related to sex. Even after the big class in 6th grade, I was still like "Huh?" -- because my parents refused to talk to me about it. They were embarrassed about it, and so I took my cue about sex and love from great role models...like Doc on the Love Boat (who was always getting some!) Thank goodness nothing bad ever happened to me -- and the worst part is, that I found out later in life that my mom and dad were pregnant in high school (my dad got drafted and went to Japan so my mom went and had my sister very "quietly"). Now wouldn't one think that if they "got into trouble" (using the old phrase for it) that they would be the first ones in line to talk to their own kids about it?!

So pull out your score cards folks, and chalk one up for the lefty
