I grew up in a household with guns, I can fire guns, and I am not opposed to personal ownership of them. I have always felt safer having a gun in my home, because I know my father (ex-military) is trained to use it. I'm all for personal ownership both for sport or safety purposes....
however I don't think there's any need to have an assault weapon in your collection. Yes, I know that by banning things only the criminals will get them, but I think that's a flawed argument. Should we stop banning drugs because criminals get them anyway?
