I disagree with illegalizing guns in any form.

If you do, then by definition, only criminals will possess them. Laws will not stop criminals from possessing guns. So, how does one make the world safer by ensuring that only criminals have access to guns?

I don't think anyone would agree that if we make something illegal, it will no longer occur. And if we have reason to believe that making something illegal could only make matters worse, what then is the justification for it?
