San Francisco isn't a college town. It's a large international city...so if you live downtown there really is no way (or need) to have a large house party because there isn't much residential space. Also there are all the world famous clubs and bars to go to. Now, if you live near SFSU, all there is is residential space, in which many families live who call the cops on any kind of activity. In a small college town (like Chico, where I go to school now) it is SUPER easy to throw 600+ parties because the people that live near the college are college students. College students generally don't call the police for noise complaints.

I think Presents would be the only qualifying "party" but in recent years it seems the only people who come to that any more is Pi Kappa Phi, Alpha Phi, AGD and Phi Sig...

When was there a Sig Ep chapter at SFSU and where was their house? I thought there was a city ordinance or whatever that didn't allow sorority/fraternity housing.
