In all fairness and equality, women should have the same obligations as men have. I don't see how someone can expect to have equal rights when they don't have equal responsibility to up hold those rights.
On the other hand, not trying to sound like a pig, a lot of women can not physically serve in the military. There are some women that are just as strong as men, but on the whole they are just not physically built to do that sort of thing. There are many other roles that women can take though.
One thing that pisses me off about the military is the fact that when being tested on our physical fitness the standards are vastly different between the men and women. I don't think that combat roles should be open-unless those differences are settled-there are 20 other branches that women can easily serve in.
