Also, I cannot remember which culture did this, but I have heard about a person being tied to two horses and the horses being prompted to run in opposite directions ripping the person apart. That is horrible. I still don't think that compares to the long and constant torture that Christ endured.
Some of the other descriptions of dramatic executions do seem to be a bit more torturous, but who knows?
