I absolutely adore yellow gold. My parents gave me my first yellow gold diamond ring when I was tiny. It's like a size 1.5. I was hooked from then on. I do prefer lighter shades of yellow gold though.
White gold/silver/platinum doesn't look right on me. Just makes me look more pasty than usual.
