Air dried I have wavy hair, can be frizzy depending on the weather. In summer no matter what I do I am a huge frizzball so I normally just do it curly, while in the winter I can make it *relatively* straight. I got a CHI right before Thanksgiving from my grandmother as an early Christmas gift. Might I also add my hair is down the middle of my back. In 10-15 minutes I can do my whole head, and it is straight. Flat, stick straight, almost asian hair straight. I have had people ask me if I got the chemical straightening it is that straight. I love the thing, if you ask me I gladly would have paid another hundred dollars for it (even though I got it as a gift). It is easy to use, quick to use, and works better then any cream, and other straightening iron I have ever had, and I've run the gammet on cheaper priced flat irons.
The reason it is so good, is because it gets to very high temperatures.
The only thing to note, I don't straighten my hair everyday, cause I don't wash it everyday. I wouldn't be able to tell you if there is more damage that occurs with more use, b/c of the temp. I also use a spray on heat protectant, I believe Paul Mitchell Heat Seal to protect my hair from the heat.
Sorry for the long post, hope this helps1
