I am treated differently because I am a female chemist. Most of the people I work with are "old school" and think that a woman's place is at home with the children. (And there is nothing wrong with being a stay-at-home mother. That's just not me though.) These men are amazed to see an attractive, 23 year old female walking around the lab performing the same tasks as they do. And they're always amazed to find out that I actually know what I am doing!
