Does this have anything to do with the fact that I still have my tonsils? The reason I ask is a girl I work with had the same problem and her dr ended up taking her tonsis out (she hasn't been sick since).

This is me. I was sick last week and thought it was an ear infection. So last weekend I went to the ER because my ears were hurting. Anyway I asked the nurse practitioner if I still had my tonsils. She said yes and I asked should I consider having them taken out. And she's all why? Apperently the tonsils serve some kind of function and are vital in some way. I think she said it helps the spleen in some way. Of course she also told me I had a virus when it truns out I had a upper respiratory infection
