'Sex' Ending a Surprise to Mr. Big

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Chris Noth knows the questions are coming. He's ready for them to the point that he can predict and pre-emptively answer some of them.
"I can tell you right off the bat: I was in Paris, I am in the last episode, I don't know what the ending is," he says.
The actor's "Jeopardy"-like answers to questions that haven't yet been asked are all about "Sex and the City," which is ending its much-lauded, highly scrutinized and very fashionable six-season run on HBO Sunday, Feb. 22. Noth has been a pivotal part of the show, playing Carrie's (Sarah Jessica Parker) great but unworkable love, Mr. Big.
Noth is giving nothing away by saying Big will be in the final episodes -- HBO has featured him extensively in promos for the two remaining shows. He's also not just being coy in saying he doesn't know the series wraps; he says three separate endings were shot.
Noth says he's been "watching from afar" for most of the series' last two seasons, as Big's presence was substantially reduced when the character moved to California at the end of the fourth season. He recognizes, though, that "Sex and the City" has carved an enduring niche in popular culture.
"I think it's been big. Besides being popular, it's really well-written, and the girls are really strong actresses," he says. "If you're going to call TV a medium of pop culture -- and I don't mean that in a derogatory way -- it will figure big in it."
