I think it means you want him to like you and you don't have enough of a base line on he guy to know what his behavior patterns are like.
ITs a good sign if guys pay attention to you. Its not necessarily a bad sign if we are a little mean to you. ITs a bad sign if we are utterly indifferent to you.
