Again, he (Kenny Chesney) is indeed a fully initiated member of the bond.

He was initiated into Iota Omicron Zeta (East Tennessee State University) in Johnson City, TN (About 75 miles NE of Knoxville and 45 miles west of Asheville, NC). He was ititiated about 1990 and I'll get his zeta number (chapter member number)for ya'll. He never graduated ETSU, and left to make his mark in Nashville circa 1992. ETSU has since given him an honorary degree and he now does commercials for ETSU in the Johnson City area.

I have a friend who was a brother there at about the same time and Brother Chesney was his Kappa. Apparently the brothers also gave him much grief about his music, lol.

I have seen the house he mentions in the song. While it is no longer the chapter house (they are in different digs), its really cool to knwo theres a song about that house - and my fraternity.

Also, the song has been quite the topic of conversation at headquarters this week. Officially, Lambda Chi risk management policies strictly forbid the use of kegs and mass containers of alcohol (since 90), more than one staffer has admitted that they think its cool that LXA is mentioned in the song.
