I think the problem with these so-called experts is a big one on TV. Producers have their rolodexes that are filled with just a few names. When a topic comes up, they call whoever is in their rolodex instead of doing proper research and calling a real expert.
Why do you think Gloria Allred gets on TV everytime anything involving women, children or minorities happens in California? When was the last time you actually heard about something better than average that she did in a court room? Why is she an expert on anything? Because she wears bright red lipstick and her name is Allred and therefore, she sticks out in producers' and the public's minds when certain topics come up.
Same goes for any TV show really. Look at Fox News or CNN. They are always calling on the same talking heads to comment on anything. Not that these people know much more than your average person, it's just that the viewing public trusts familiar faces more.
The fact that this guy is recognized by anyone as an expert on this is laughable. It's just that the general public doesn't have a clue as to what hazing even is. Couldn't give you a definition if you asked 'em. TV and news don't cater towards people that know what's going on. They are catering towards folks that want to buy what they're selling.
The fact that this guy gets any kind of publicity whatsoever is dangerous for all GLOs.
