My campus just has one as well, in the spring. Sucks if you graduate in December or in the summer. Students who will graduate in the summer or have graduated the previous December are allowed to walk in the spring ceremony.
Did your advisor tell you you were good to go? If so, as someone said, you can appeal. If not, well...I don't know. I know it's disappointing, but I hope you can work it out.
