What in the world did you mean by this statement? Mary said only that the laws are not strict for people who abuse animals. You reply appears to be completely unrelated to her comment.
Yes, animals and people are different. No, they are not entitled to the
same rights as people. That does not mean that they are not entitled to a certain level of care and compassion, and a life free from abuse at the hands of humans.
