Yes, I have heard of this. If a child is physically or mentally handicapped by a physicians standards, a parent can receive supplemental income. There are financial guidelines that differ from state-to-state, however the procedures for applying are just about the same. Telephone your local S.S. office to request an application be mailed to you. The application normally requests medical informaton about your child, your income and marriage status, and authorization to receive medical records from all of your childs' doctors/pediatricians. You will then complete, SIGN and DATE EVERYTHING (Keep a copy for your files). A letter usually follows in 6-8 weeks determining your eligiblity. God bless, I will pray for your family.
