That's why it's a wise idea to have your advisor review your transcript a semester BEFORE you are scheduled to graduate. Unfortunately that must not be a requirement at your university. If it IS, and someone told you that you were good, then you have some grounds to appeal. Otherwise, you need to find out what course was disallowed. Is is a required course or an elective? If it's an elective, can you do an independant study or self-paced online course to get the credits. If there is only one official ceremony per year, they should allow you to 'walk' through the ceremony in the spring as long as you're enrolled for the missing credits in the summer session.
