I am not sure that it is all that naive. I think people just rapidly forget what its like to be kids. Maybe I didn't grow up very sheltered, but me and my friends could have told you shocking stuff by the time we were of school age. And we wouldn't have been unduly shocked by something like that, if anything we would have thought it funny, a thing to snigger about.
