Tha chapter is one of our nicer ones. Their house is HUGE. I'd be surprised if they end up dormant over this thing -- if the allegations are true, I'd hope they just kick all of the actives out that participated in this. The alums up there will hopefully shephard the chapter through this crap.
It's always surprising to me when I see a chapter of Sigma Nu go down for hazing. If you've ever read our history, that's exactly what we were founded against.
Lesson learned: don't haze.

Let's hope you're right. However, just because a chapter is huge, or the house is huge, won't hold water - look at SN at Colorado State - almost a 70 year old chapter, if I remember correctly - gone. Literally. Not only was the chapter closed, the house was razed a year or so ago. Also LXA at CSU, 80 years - closed (recolonization in 3 years being planned). ATO at CSU - 85 years old. Gone.
Of course it depends on the seriousness of the allegations, and, almost as important - HOW THE CHAPTER CHOOSES TO DEAL WITH THE ALLEGATIONS. Too many times, we hear of chapter closings where the house is trashed/vandalized, etc...or the "wall of silence" during the investigation. If they are willing to be men about this, they will cooperate. Those members that need to go, should choose to leave by themselves, without prolonging what will already be a very difficult situation and a very difficult time for all involved.
That being said, I hope the chapter does survive this - there is already enough grist for the mill than to add another sad chapter (no pun intended!) to the story of greek hazing.
