I think it is silly, childish, and superficial to date a man based on his greek/non-greek affiliation. A woman who does such is setting herself up for emotional doom.
If you're already dating a GDI, there are changes that you and he will both have to adapt to. As an ultra-excited neo, you will want to spend time with your sands and participate in greek stuff (parties, stepshows, etc.) more than ever. Now that you've crossed and are able to see more of him, he may expect to spend more time with you, and may not understand why you want to do other things with other people. This is a big difference between GDI and greek men; a man in a frat may be much more understanding and accommodating when it comes to you wanting to "kick it." The two of you will have to discuss it, and you will have to be willing to make SOME sacrifices and compromises if you want to keep the peace.
Personally, I don't care if a man is in a frat or not. However, I do prefer men who at least know something about black greek life, and respect my decision to be apart of it. I can't be down with a GDI who is against the greek system and speaks negatively and critically about it. Delta is a part of me--if he can't accept AND respect that, he's up out!
And I'm Out!
