I agree that you shouldn't show up for recruitment (or a job interview) dirty, smelling, swearing, etc. - but people do it all the time. Check out the "rushee from hell" thread in the rush forum - it's full of stories of PNMs giving sisters the finger, being rude, or just plain doing something weird.

You don't have to be a perfect lady or gentleman to get into a GLO (heaven knows I'm not a perfect lady ) but you should at least display basic manners during recruitment. You're a guest at someone's house, for heaven's sake!

Anyway, I think that if someone like I described (a rude, uncouth woman who happens to be a legacy) had come through my chapter's rush, we would have invited her back as a courtesy to our sister to whom she's related. We'd have tried to limit her interaction with other PNMs (maybe by taking her on a reallllly long house tour ). Then, we'd have cut her after round 2.
