We weren't necessarily bored, but we stayed up many nights playing Bid Whist and Penuchle. I learned all the card games that year! We usually got hungry late at night and at my HBCU back in the day
we had to sneak out after curfew. It was a group effort, someone on the third floor had to decoy the Dorm Matron up there with excessive noise, then the chosen runners would go out to buy the food, and upon our return-(it had to be coordinated) We would run back to the dorm--There was no way Campus Security wouldn't see you coming back, but we could outrun them in our sleep! Our compatriots would be watching and when we came running, they would decoy the Dorm Matron again and allow us to be let back in the dorm and escape up the stairs.
