hmm... i couldn't read through that whole thread- so many suggestions! but my favorite book to read and also works if you need some perspective on life is called the Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster- i read it for the first time int eh 6th grade- but read it again a few years ago- but i usually pick it up about 3 times a year- it is an amazing story.... but you'll have to read it to find out! also- i LOVE gone with the wind... its a classic- and not exactly a light read ( but i read it in 2 days) umm... i would have to say my favorite author is john irving... a prayer for owen meaney!! ugh that books is amazing- so is a widow for one year.... the hotel new hampshire- whats eating gilbert grape... all sooooo good- i highly recommend anything by him- but be prepared- he sometimes writes bluntly... but i think thats why he's so good
