I'd say go for it!

You're in an enviable position because like you said you are single and child-free. When it's just you there are less complications. You also have the additional bonus of having a web based business that travels where ever you go!

Now for DC, I've lived here for 13 years. I've also lived in Cleveland (hometown), Augusta, GA, and Charlotte, NC. Out of all those places I consider, DC home. I love the fact that it's a tri-state area. Culturally, there is such a wide range of nationalities and influences. I find the area to be positive for the most part as well because you have so many professional, spiritually positive people. Black folks here are on the move. Not to say that you don't find that in every city; however, there is an abundance. I find that fact alone to be very motivating.

The idea of a greek shop is also very good. I personally know of only 3 shops off hand. The Guild (across from Howard), one on U of M's campus, and there's one in Baltimore.

In closing, I'm a firm believer in following your heart. If you feel that DC is where you yearn to be than follow that dream. Additionally, there's plenty of your sorority sisters here who I bet you could call upon. Reds6 is one of them. Please feel free to shoot me an e-mail if you'd like to chat about it.

Good luck!
