That woman prizes education. She went to Howard University, but ran out of money and dropped out before meeting my Dad. But she got her bachelor's in 1977 through night school, when I was 13, to set an example for us.

Your mother sounds like a wonderful lady! I treasure the thoughts that there truly are people willing to lead by example!
As for the president, I also think he was in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. I'm interested in hearing how you think he
should have handled it, and I hope y'all don't mind my crashing your board.
