the show is too staged and the characters do need to loosen up a bit...it is not completely unfair to say that they are patterning themselves after the Cosby Show, that is just a programming fact...you go with what works...Cosby worked, therefore it has become the prototype for "black" family shows that have followed since...maybe I just watch too much tv, i dunno...but that's my assessment...
If they loosen up they may last through a second season...
